The Magic of Mulled Chai
Monday, 4th December 2017
It’s always around this time of year that feelings of cosiness, love, reflection, and nostalgia are in the air. People are walking around with a little bounce in their step, excited to buy Christmas food, or perhaps a new diary for the year ahead. Personally, I've been reflecting on this past year; acknowledging the things I've worked through, of what I’m appreciative, and ways to work through the hard moments. Whilst sipping cup after cup of chai, I’m also dreaming of a white Christmas on the other side of the world!
Mulled wine has always been one of my favourite beverages, so I was inspired to experiment! I’m pretty excited about this recipe, so I hope you’ll like this special, slightly heady concoction. Grab some mulled chai as you catch up with friends over the holidays, chat with loved ones on the porch, play boardgames with the family, or simply take some time out for yourself.
This 4-ingredient recipe is so easy as I've done half the work for you with my freshly handcrafted masala chai blend. The signature flavours of Deepka Chai work so well with Fireball Whisky!
(approx. 6 serves)
- 750ml water
- 30g Deepka Chai
- 1.5L milk of your choice (check out The Art of Chai for great options)
- 240ml Fireball Whisky (or to taste)
- Heat 750ml of water in a pot.
- Add Deepka Chai and boil for 3 minutes.
- Add your choice of milk and bring to the boil.
- Lower heat and add Fireball Whisky.
- Cook for 1 minute to evaporate the alcohol, or take off the heat immediately for a little boozy kick.
- Strain and serve warm!
I would love to hear your thoughts about this whisky mulled chai. Please feel free to email or leave a message, or even come say hi on one of my social media pages!
Happy, happy holidays everyone! Wishing you a wonderful time and a joyous start to the new year.
